*It’s been a wonderful journey for the television series “The Game.”

The hit series debuted on the CW back in 2006 where it lived for three seasons. Following its cancellation from the network, BET picked it up and the series found a new home for an additional 6 seasons. Years later, Paramount+ has revived “The Game” and the show is now on its second season with the streaming giant.

“The Game” stars Wendy Raquel Robinson as the hilarious Tasha Mack and Hosea Chanchez as Malik Wright. Throughout the Paramount+ inception of the series, former cast members make recurring appearances such as Pooch Hall who plays Derwin Davis and Coby Bell who plays Jason Pitts.

Fans of the series are in for a treat with the current season because Barry Floyd also known to “Game” fans as TeeTee, is returning to the show as well.

“It feels like coming home,” Floyd said. “Just slipped right back into the old routine again. I met the new crew, they’re really super cool. The old school is still here. We picked up right where we left off.”

Floyd’s return to “The Game” will see the character with more responsibilities than ever before. “Tee-Tee’s got big, important thing coming up later in the season,” he said. “He’s getting married.”

Season one of “The Game” on Paramount+ saw Tasha and Malik’s mother/son relationship kind of take a backseat to their manager/client relationship and viewers saw the duo in a whole new light.  According to Robinson, Season 2 may continue to dive deeper into their relationship.

“The problem is, having a son at 16, it’s like who is the mother? Who is the son? Who is the parent? Who is the child,” Robinson said. “I think you really see where those lines continue to get blurred. Not only as a manager, but as a mom-ager and as a woman raising a man, and the man is grown and it’s like mama you gotta let this go. But you’re going to see the ghost of their past come up.”

Fans of “The Game” may have noticed Rick Fox, another familiar face from previous seasons, in the trailer for the latest season. Wendy says his return might be a “messy” one.

“What is going on with that,” Robinson said. “Yeah, it’s Messy. It’s messy. Come on, it’s Tasha! It’s Tasha. You know it’s going to be messy! It’s gonna be messy,”

Fans will also see Malik Wright [Chanchez] in a more vulnerable state.

“Malik has been a very complex character,” Chanchez said. “In some ways he’s been really one dimensional because he is a cliche- he has been a cliche. In so many different ways. Last season we got to see an unbelievable amount of growth for this character. I’m really proud of the man that he has turned into and turning into. He’s growing in ways that I could have only dreamt for the character which is one of the reasons I wanted to come back and do it again on Paramount+”

Malik Wright continues to grow in the upcoming season as well.

“Malik’s leadership, it won’t disappoint you,” Chanchez said. “He is consistent. So he takes up the mantle that he had last year and continues to lead that charge this season.”

As far as what fans can expect this season, Robinson states that it’s going to be powerful.

“This is a pow, pow, powerful season,” Robinson said. “It really is.”

Series Showrunner, Devon Greggory, says that the 8th episode is the one to look out for.

“208,” Greggory said. “208. I’m just saying. I think 208 is going to be the most memorable episode in the entire series.”

He added, “We came out the box in a different way. Everybody did something special and unique. I can’t say too much, but take a look at it.”
