*A DoorDash driver has posted a video exposing a Detroit area Popeyes infested with cockroaches.

The dasher was waiting for an order at the fast-food eatery on the east side of Detroit when she noticed cockroaches crawling on several orders, so the woman started recording, WXYZ reports.

“It was just like all over the counter, all over the utensils and all over the bags and things like that,” said the anonymous driver, who didn’t want to be identified.

The dasher alerted Popeyes workers to the bug situation and informed the customer who was supposed to receive the order that had roaches crawling over it.

“I was definitely surprised. I was caught off guard. I was shocked. I was disgusted. I just couldn’t believe that they were even open and working in those conditions,” the Dasher said.

When the Detroit Health Department caught wind of the video, an inspector visited the location, which is run by an independent franchisee, and found evidence of cockroaches.

The restaurant’s management decided to close the location until after it undergoes a thorough cleansing, according to the report.

Per the WXYZ report, a Popeyes spokesperson said on Twitter that the restaurant will remain closed “until it can provide our guests with the Popeyes standards and service they deserve.”

“If it wasn’t for me… this business would still be open. They would still be running today,” said the DoorDash driver. “I feel bad for the staff because it’s holiday moments, and I know they probably need their income. But at the same time, I don’t want them working in those conditions because that’s awful.”
