*Gossip queen Wendy Williams will be on Dr. Oz‘s show today and it should be quite interesting if our headline is any indication.

Among other things, Williams spoke candidly about the tough decision to suspend her talk show during this coronavirus crisis, and how she’s dealing with social distancing factor.

“I got a telephone call, honestly, and the phone call was, ‘Wendy?’ I was like, ‘What? What am I doing wrong now? I always think I’m in trouble,” the former WBLS-FM shock jock shared. “They said, ‘We’re all shutting down everything, all the networks. Nobody is going to be doing new shows. We want all the hosts to be well.’”

“I said, ‘But I can do it even with no audience. I don’t even have to have the staffers there because I did that for two days,’” she continued. “But they said, ‘No. We need to have you home, indefinitely.’ There will be no more Wendy or any of the other people for a period of time.’”

“I’m willing to risk it with one camera and a flashlight,” she added. “I’m ready to go back to work next week. I’m ready to go back to work when we’re like — come on, let’s go!”

Here’s more on the situation via the NY Daily News:

Williams is in the 12th season of her daily chatfest with a seemingly loyal audience that has watched some of her professional highs and personal lows play out in recent years; collapsing live on air, a lengthy hiatus, a stint in a sober-living facility and a messy divorce.

The Asbury Park, N.J., native’s no-holds-barred candor and lowbrow antics have proven to be an enduring quality that allowed her show outlast many competitors, including ill-fated talk shows hosted by Megyn Kelly, Kris Jenner, Bethenny Frankel and even a return of 1990s staple Ricki Lake.

The 55-year-old Radio Hall of Fame inductee now has an estimated net worth of $40 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Oh and there was this interesting exchange between Williams and Dr. Oz regarding the life span of viruses on cash.

“We shouldn’t be exchanging cash and coins because we hold those dearly in our fingers,” he warned. “They are ultimate virus conveyors. So we should just be cashless. That’s what they did in China because they already were. Just be cashless. They were burning cash in China.”

“I disagree,” Williams objected.

“I feel like cash is king at this point. I feel like, you know, when you go into a place, you give cash and maybe on the down low, that helps the merchant,” she said.

Beyond that, Williams is also sounding off on what she’s stress eating, hoarding, and her opinion about the people still partying at beaches and nightclubs.

Plus, Dr. Oz answers the one question Wendy says has been keeping her up at night.
