*Beverly Hills, CA — Gibson Public Relations in association with The Multicultural International Motion Picture Association presented the 11th Annual Lady in Red Diamond Rose Awards Gala, Friday, February 21, 2020.
The awards program and gala dinner held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Beverly Hills, California, was hosted by Emmy Award-Winning Actor/Entertainer, Obba Babatunde whose TV Stage & Film credits include: Little Fires Everywhere, S.W.A.T., Miss Evers Boys, Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, The Eye, The Notebook, John Q, After The Sunset, I’m Dying up Here, Half N Half, Life, The Temptation, Once In a Lifetime, Dear White People, Days of Our Lives, CSI and Dreamgirls just to name a few. Featured entertainment for the evening included Romanian born recording artists Drei Ros and RobYoung, who performed their new single “Excuse My Accent.” The capacity crowd was also entertained by Carmelita Pittman and guest pianist and singer Lace Alexander, along with performances by actor Keith David (Greenleaf) and recording artist Sheldon Reynolds of Earth, Wind & Fire closed the show with the EWF classic “September.”
In attendance were several past honorees and celebrity guest presenters including actress Renee Lawless of Tyler Perry’s “Haves and The Havenots,” actress Kathleen Bradley-Redd (Friday Movies, Barkers Beauties), Executive Producer Corey Turner of Ladder Truck 33 and DNEG, songstress Florence LaRue of The Fifth Dimension, actress Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3), actress Kat Kramer, Ambassador Diane Watson, and many others.
The 11th Annual Lady in Red Diamond Rose Awards Gala honored ten phenomenal women including, Civil Rights Attorney, CNN Commentator and Best-Selling Author, Areva Martin, Actress/Advocate, Lauren “Lolo” Spencer, GWS Auctions, Inc. Owner/Philanthropist and well-known “Royal Auctioneer”, Dame Brigitte Kruse, Author/Writer/Producer, LaRita Shelby, Actress, Kate Linder of Young & The Restless, EZWay TV’s’ President, Denise Millett Burkhardt, Olympian and Archery Champion, Eunice Duarte Delfin, Founder of The Jonathan Foundation, Raja Marhaba, Founder of Sisters at the Well and the International Black Women’s Public Policy Forum, Barbara Perkins and COO of Craig Shelly Jewelry of Beverly Hills, Shelly Shah.
MIMPA’s Lady in Red Diamond Rose Awards recognizes and empowers women who are making a difference in the world in their various careers, including, but not limited to the entertainment industry. MIMPA raises funds to benefit non-profit organizations that seek to support the specific needs of women and children. MIMPA also announced its 501(c)3 status at the gala dinner. This year’s benefactor is the Special Needs Network, a 501(c)3 organization that advocates for children with disabilities.
