*What? Civil rights activist Najee Ali director of Project Islamic Hope and a coalition of activists are calling for the arrest and prosecution of LA County Sheriff deputy Miguel Vega, who shot Alex Guardado 5 times in the back killing him last month in Gardena.
The activists are also calling for the immediate resignation of LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva in response to his failure in transparency and leadership since he’s been in office.
“The straw that broke the camel’s back is the release of the autopsy results of Andre’s Guardado who was shot several times and killed by Sheriff’s deputies last month in Gardena. Villanueva put a security hold on the autopsy results when he knew all along that his deputy shot this kid in the back. Villanueva must resign he can’t be trusted and his leadership is a threat to public safety. Also, LA County Sheriff deputy Miguel Vega, responsible for shooting Guardado 5 times in the back is a cold-blooded killer who should be arrested immediately and prosecuted for the murder of Guardado, ” stated Najee Ali of Project Islamic Hope.
