Jimmy Fallon Apologizes for ‘Unquestionably Offensive’ Blackface Skit (WATCH)

*Just like that, Jimmy Fallon finds himself on “clean up duty” after a clip of him in blackface started trending on Twitter. He has offered an apology.

The “SNL ” skit from 2000, which shows him doing an impression of Chris Rock, reappeared online on Tuesday triggering the hashtag #jimmyfallonisoverparty to trend.

Fallon, 45,  took to social media to apologize.

“In 2000, while on SNL, I made a terrible decision to do an impersonation of Chris Rock while in blackface. There is no excuse for this.”

*Jimmy Fallon is the latest celeb in jeopardy of social cancellation after a 20-year-old clip of him in blackface in a “Saturday Night Live” sketch resurfaced.

Fallon, now host of “The Tonight Show,” was playing Chris Rock in a “Live with Regis and Kelly” sketch. The hashtag #jimmyfallonisoverparty started trending and reaction within it was mixed.

Some were tired of yet another cancellation, while others pointed out that SNL was actually called out as hypocrites a year ago, when they spoke out against using blackface, yet had used it in sketches on many past occasions. A year later, Fallon’s video is the one that has been singled out.
