*Last weekend, Long Beach, California had all the heat, with the 4th Annual ComplexCon Long Beach event. The weekend offered a mash-up of exclusive shopping opportunities, art, celebrity and music stars, topped off with panel discussions and creative brand experiences.
Celebrities in attendance included Pharrell Williams at the Billionaire Boys Club ICECREAM x Reebok booth; “Grown-ish” star Yara Shahidi & Storm Reid; Lupe Fiasco and Ty Dolla $ign playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare; The “Queen Bee” Lil Kim hit the stage – along with those dance moves; with Kid Cudi closing out Saturday night. Sunday’s performances included surprise performances from Da Baby and 21 Savage
Tyga came out to support his capsule collection Von Dutch by Tyga, LL Cool J, Jhene Aiko, Master P, and Jadakiss hit up the Def Jam experience.
Other brand activations included an interactive photo booth from Warner Bros. for the upcoming film Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.) The activation gave you a sneak peek inside Quinn’s erratic world. It also featured an area for you to tag and leave your mark. The film comes out February 7, 2020.
Former NBA players Allen Iverson, Dwyane Wade, Matt Barnes, Paul Pierce along with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols all hit the conversation stage to discuss topics ranging from athletes and fashion, the current state of the NBA and a few jokes comparing the players’ scoring averages while in the league.
On Sunday, panel discussions included a look at Lil Kim’s impact on Hip-Hop and fashion; Trina and Eve also joined in on a panel discussion about the legacy of female rappers.
There were more celebrity sightings on the ComplexCon showroom floor; Offset, Lil Pump, Tinashe, Chuck D and LA Rams Running Back Todd Gurley, and NFL free agent Marshawn Lynch.
