*On Wednesday, Nov. 13, The Real welcomes back guest co-host comedian, producer and writer Robin Thede of A Black Lady Sketch Show, and the ladies discuss People Magazine’s latest choice for “Sexiest Man Alive” – John Legend – and if they agree with the decision.

What would you do if you found out big news about a family member over social media? And co-host Adrienne Houghton shares the story of how the beat for rapper Fabolous’s “You Be Killin’ Em” was originally meant for her!

And later, co-host Tamera Mowry-Housley talks about executive producing and starring in the upcoming Hallmark Movies and Mysteries film, The Christmas Miracle. Her two co-stars, Brooks Darnell and Gabriel Jacob-Cross, join the ladies to chat about the film and shooting with Tamera. Brooks recalls how he excited he was to be making a Hallmark film, and how he was even more thrilled to find out he would be working with Tamera!

Colin Kaepernick Is Working Out With The NFL This Weekend – The Ladies Have Some Thoughts!

Jeannie Mai: Colin Kaepernick was invited to a private workout in Atlanta this Saturday, which means that this free agent man might have the chance to play on the NFL team again!

[The Real audience applauds]

Jeannie: OK! So you support! Ok, so we all know if you didn’t, that he stirred up some controversy in 2016 when he took a knee to protest police brutality, so I want to know – how do you guys feel about this chance of Colin being back on the NFL?

Robin Thede: Yeah.

[The Real audience applauds]

Tamera Mowry-Housley: They love it.

Jeannie: All for it.

Loni Love: I think it’s long overdue.

Adrienne Houghton: Very long overdue.

Loni: Long overdue, I think that what Colin was kneeling for we’re still working on to try to improve, police brutality, but he brought attention to it…

Adrienne: So much awareness.

[The Real audience applauds]

Loni: I think he sacrificed a lot.

Tamera: Yeah.

Adrienne: Well done.

Loni: I just want to remind people that Colin opted out of his contract in 2017 – he was not fired, he opted out of it to try to get more money, and then what happened was, with all the kneeling and everything, there was some controversy about bringing him back. They had a settlement, because there was a lawsuit about collusion to keep him out. They settled it – it was confidential, the, you know, what happened…

Adrienne: The settlement?

Loni: Yeah, so we don’t know actually what was the requirements, but then it just seems like he was still getting –

Adrienne: Blackballed.

Tamera: Blackballed. Yup.

Loni: –blackballed. What I like about Americans, we’re like, “We’re going to stop watching football, we gonna stop it,” and then Jay Z got with the NFL to start working on halftime performances for the NFL. I do believe that Jay Z had some influence on this –

Adrienne: I do too!

Loni: — to make it happen.

[The Real audience applauds]

[EDIT]

Adrienne: In his tweet that he posted saying that he was going to Atlanta for a workout, he was like, “No – I been ready for this for –“

Adrienne and Tamera: “THREE YEARS!”

[The Real audience applauds]

Tamera: He’s been working out.

Adrienne: He’s been in shape, he’s been working out and I think that that’s such a great message as well. Don’t just wait for the opportunity, but be –

Adrienne and Tamera: PREPARED!

Adrienne: For when it arises also.

Robin Thede: Also, also, a team needs to take a chance. If he’s ready, if he’s been working out every day for all of these years, he has sacrificed so much, a team needs to step up and make him a part of their program in a real way.

Loni: Well, if you look at the current teams, a lot of them need him!
