*We previously reported how T.I. came under fire this week for making the shocking revelation on the Ladies Like Us podcast that he makes an OB-GYN appointment for his daughter Deyjah Harris every year after her birthday — to make sure she’s still a virgin.
The rapper claims he accompanies his daughter to the gynecologist “to check her hymen,” and gets Deyjah to sign a waiver allowing the doctor to share the information.
“This is the thing,” he said on Nazanin Mandi’s Ladies Like Us podcast, per MadameNoire, “Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.”

The hosts of the show caught just as much heat as T.I. after the conversation, so much so that they have released a statement via social media in which they apologize for not handling the moment differently, thejasminebrand.com reports.
“To everyone confused, angry and hurt by the recent episode of ‘Ladies Like Us,’ we want to start off by saying that we sincerely apologize for our knee jerk reaction to the uncomfortable topic. We were completely caught off guard/shocked and looking back, we should have reacted much differently in the moment.”
They added:
“The comments that were made and the reaction that followed are not in any way a reflection of our personal views on the topic. We support and love Women and feel that their bodies are theirs to do as they wish. There was absolutely no ill intent towards any party involved & feel deeply awful about the entire incident.”
They went on to write:
“We are not perfect, take full accountability of our lack of action & are continuously learning along the way. We know an apology doesn’t make this go away but we welcome the discussion — that’s what our podcast is about.”
According to some reports, the hosts decided to pull the entire episode from their site. Meanwhile, T.I.’s daughter Deyjah is siding with the people criticizing her father for testing her virginity.
Deyjah has yet to publicly comment, but on Twitter, she liked two tweets from folks discussing T.I.’s controversial comments, The Blast reports.
One read, “this is disgusting, possessive and controlling whew.” The second tweet read, “That is beyond possessive.”
Deyjah’s liking of the tweets clearly indicates that she agrees with their views.
T.I. has yet to respond to the backlash he’s receiving.
