*CBS News shouldn’t feel so bad about their boo-boo on Monday where they misidentified a photo of Congressman John Lewis for the late Congressman Elijah Cummings, who announced pon Sunday that he is dealing with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

We say the news organization shouldn’t feel so bad because it’s certainly not the first time it’s happened. More on that shortly. In any event, an apology was issued Monday night. Keep in mind that Cummings died of natural causes in October at age 68.

“Tonight on the 6:30 p.m. ET broadcast of the CBS Evening News, one photograph was misidentified as Congressman John Lewis. We have replaced the photo in all broadcasts and platforms. We deeply regret the error,” CBS tweeted.

As we said, it’s not the first time Lews has been mistaken for Cummings. Back in October when the late Maryland representative died, actor Chadwick Boseman posted what he thought was a tribute to Cummings. Well, it was, but there was a huge flaw … 2 of the 3 photos he used were of John Lewis!

The internet took notice and as GossipOnThis noted, folks “promptly let King T’Challa know that he needed to check his Vibranium and come again.”

Meanwhile, Lewis, 79, said he will continue to serve in the House of Representatives while undergoing chemotherapy treatment for his cancer.

The civil rights leader once marched alongside Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to fight for the freedom of Black people to vote in U.S. elections.

On Sunday, however, Lewis announced he is in the biggest fight of his life.

“I have been in some kind of fight – for freedom, equality, basic human rights – for nearly my entire life,” he said.

“I have never faced a fight quite like the one I have now.”

Lewis added: “I have a fighting chance.”
