*Lindsey Vonn has put a ring on it.
The former ski racer said the hell with traditional roles and decided to pop the question to hockey star P.K. Subban on Christmas day.
“Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!! On our 2 year anniversary, in a “non traditional” move, I asked PK to marry me and he said, Yes,” Vonn tweeted on Dec. 25. “Yes (bashful emoji) ! Women aren’t the only ones who should get engagement rings!”
She included the hashtags “MerryChristmas” and “equality.”

Vonn also announced the exciting news on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself with Subban wearing matching striped pajamas in front of a Christmas tree with their three dogs, along with the caption, “Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!! On our 2 year anniversary I returned the favor and asked PK to marry me… and he said yes ☺️ We talk about equality but actions speak louder than words. Men should get engagement rings too and this is what PK deserves. Can’t wait to marry you babe.” See the full post above.
Vonn, who recently retired from a skiing career, announced on social media in August that she and Subban were engaged. But that didn’t stop her from popping the question for a second time.
Subban initially proposed over the summer by giving Vonn an emerald ring.
“I got the ring and said, ‘You know what? I’m just going to do it home,'” he told Vogue when recalling how the engagement went down. “Everything kind of came together on that day. Everyone says the stars aligned — well, it was actually a full moon. I was worried because I knew she would want to be dressed up and not in her pajamas, and it just so happened she had a business meeting, so she was fully dressed up.”
35-year-old Vonn previously had a high-profile relationship with Tiger Woods and was married to former ski racer Thomas Vonn. She kept his last name after they separated.
It’s unclear if Vonn and Subban have picked out a date to tie the knot.
