*Jussie Smollet has put Chicago in his rear view mirror, so to speak , and is back in SoCal.
He’s most likely here for this weekend’s NAACP Image Awards where he’s up for a big award. An award, black conservatives had lobbied the Image Awards to basically take back his nomination. Just imagine what that would’ve looked like had they acquiesced to them.
In any event, Smollett landed at LAX Wednesday night, where he was flanked by security guards and family members as paparazzi peppered him with questions, like whether he thinks he’ll get his career back on track … and if he thought he wasted the Chicago PD’s time, according to TMZ.
Smollett of course didn’t take the bait and made his way to a waiting car.

Jussie, if you’re wondering, is nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the 50th NAACP Image Awards for his “Empire” role. The awards go down Saturday evening, and while he hasn’t officially said he’ll attend … this is a strong indicator he’ll be there. Plus, it’s an opportunity for him to tighten up his image and possibly make a strategic, if not major announcent regarding whet’s he’s been dealing with.
In other words, will he say anything about the controversial call by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office to drop his 16 felonies?
All eyes will be on Mr. Smollett, that’s for sure.
