*EUR met up with the “Missing Link” cast and director on the Red Carpet at Regal Cinemas Battery in New York to talk about the exciting, animated action/adventure moving into theaters today, April 12.

EUR asked Zoe Saldana (“Avatar,” “Avengers,” “Star Trek”), what drew her to “Missing Link” and she extolled the filmmaker’s expertise.

“I love everything Laika has ever released. I love stop motion. I have massive respect for the artisan that devotes his career to this form of art and filmmaking. And, I like the story. This story was really inspiring.”

Also liking on Laika is Zoe’s co-star Hugh Jackman.

What excited me about the project was director Chris Butler and Laika studios because I’ve done a few animated movies,” Jackman said. “My son’s really into stop motion animation and these guys do it for real on camera. It takes years for every finger movement, every eye movement. The beauty of that art is what really excited me. And I just love the character.”

The Laika love continued with Zach Galifianakis saying …

“I have seen other Laika movies and their stop motion is so layered in richness and so textured; they are visually stunning–and one of the reasons I wanted to take on the role. I think ‘Missing Link’ is cinematically breathtaking.”

Game of Thrones” alumna Amrita Acharia divulged to EUR a set secret about herself.

“To be honest with you, the most challenging thing about my character was just doing the accent because I’ve never done a Tibetian accent before. So that was quite challenging but a fun to do.”

Taking on “Missing Link” was a no-brainer for director Chris Butler.

“I mean it’s got monsters in it. It’s got Hugh Jackman and his fantastic co-stars. Also, I wanted to do a big action packed funny adventure movie and this is it,” he told EUR on the red carpet.  “And the challenges, you ask, I think any animated movie is a challenge. It takes a long time. It takes five years, it’s a slow, arduous process. This process was particularly challenging because this is big movie for stop motion.”
