*The daughter of famed attorney Christopher Darden is speaking out after her father was slammed online over his decision to represent the thug who allegedly murdered rapper Nipsey Hussle.
Jeneé Darden took to Instagram Sunday to address the harassment she has also received on social media over her father defending Eric Holder. Darden is best known for the notorious 1995 O.J. Simpson trial, where he served as one of the prosecutors.
As reported by Complex, rapper Meek Mill also called out Darden for taking on the Holder case, noting that “self hate continues in the black community.”

Amid the backlash towards her father, Jeneé has stepped up to set the record straight.
“Like many of you I found out about my father’s involvement in the case while scrolling social media,” she wrote. “I was not prepared for this backlash that has triggered back memories from the O.J. Simpson trial. My father is a grown man and has been a defense attorney for some time. I have no say in the cases he takes on.”
She also urged the haters and critics to “channel that energy into continuing Nipsey’s legacy.”
“Instead of attacking me and others who have nothing to do with this case, channel that energy into continuing Nipsey’s legacy in strengthening our community and uplifting each other,” she wrote. “Thank you for those who have been supportive of me. I don’t know how this will play out, but I will continue to pray for Nipsey Hussle’s family. May they have peace and justice.”

Jeneé also posted a message on her Instagram account earlier in the week in support of Nipsey and his family. She wrote: “When our Black men are taken from us, the women left behind have to carry a different weight of grief. I feel bad Lauren London is going through this. As she grieves, she has to be strong for her children. I hope she has support. When we go learn to stop killing each other?”
