*Singer Carl Thomas was reportedly hospitalized on Monday to undergo a surgical procedure to remove a tumor in his glands, according thejasminebrand.com.
The Grammy nominated artist shared a photo of himself ahead of the surgery along with the caption, “In God’s hands this morning.”
Sources close to Thomas say the procedure was to remove a noncancerous tumor located in one of his salivary glands. He had “a benign Tumor in one of [his] salivary glands and they removed it today.”
The insider later confirmed that Carl’s surgery was successful and if his recovery goes as planned, he will be back to work in two weeks, according to the report.
“[Carl will] be released tomorrow and should be back to work in two weeks.”

In related news, Patti LaBelle now has her very own street in her hometown of Philadelphia.
A part of Broad Street was renamed “Patti LaBelle Way” during a ceremony this week, where the music legend treated the nearly 500 in attendance to an impromptu performance. She also noted how her parents used to walk along the stretch of road which now boasts her iconic name.
“Receiving this honor is such a blessing; I’m truly honored and grateful,” LaBelle said while addressing the crowd during the ceremony, phillytrib.com reported. “So many people from Philadelphia and all over the world has walked these streets. My sister Jackie worked at PIR (Philadelphia International Records) right on this street that she walked to everyday.
“My niece Stacy had a house nearby. My mother and father walked this street on a regular basis before they passed, so this area and the City of Philadelphia has played a huge role in my life. I love this city so much and it truly has my heart.
“If you have a dream, nothing is too big for you,” she added. “You are worthy of everything. Just work hard and roll up your sleeves. You can accomplish anything you put your mind to.”
