Baltimore ‘Uplifting Minds II’ Entertainment Conference Panel Inspires at Security Square Mall

*The 20th annual Baltimore “Uplifting Minds II” (ULMII) Entertainment Conference highlight was the panel’s advice and the performances of former ULMII dance winners R.I.C.O.C.H.E.T.

Presented by The Baltimore Times and Security Square Mall, “Uplifting Minds II” was hosted by Magic 95.9FM’s Doresa Harvey (Urban One) and DJ Rick (GSE), and moderated by ULMII Founder Eunice Moseley (www.ThePulseofEntertainment.com).

Panelists included Consul Paul Gardner, II (www.TheGardnerLawGroup.com); Playwright Ursula V. Battle (www.BattleStagePlays.com), Artist & Development Executive Nadiyah Kareem (Superstar Entertainment); Artist Manager Dr. Kerri Moseley-Hobbs (www.Anthony-Michael.com), and multi-award winning actor/filmmaker Anthony Michael Hobbs (www.ImaginationLunchbox.com).

“ULMII” is celebrating 20 years of community service in Baltimore and Los Angles of bringing industry professional together with aspiring artists. The Baltimore attendees heard Consul Paul Gardner, II say that wording on contracts are essential to watch out for, such as the word “contrary” which reverses all that was promised you previously in the contract.

Panelist Playwright Ursula V. Battle talked about not being afraid to evolve your business as she talked about including “author” as one of her handles when she publishes a book based on one of her award winning stage plays. Artist Development Executive and educator Nadiyah Kareem, who managed her son Talib Kareem until he signed a record deal with Jive Records as part of the group Imajin, talked about our important it is to encourage the dreams of young children as she does as a teacher in the Charter School System and a vocal and acting coach in New Jersey.

Artist Manager Dr. Kerri Moseley-Hobbs, who is managing her son’s career which includes acting and modeling jobs with Dreamworks, Xfinity Comcast Network, Sprout Network and  Finish Line Sports Wear, talked about taking opportunities as they come as she did doing research into her ancestry which resulted in the need to publish a creative nonfiction book, “More Than a Fraction.”

Panelist Anthony Michael Hobbs, aside from his successful career as an actor (PBS, Dreamworks) is a multi-award winning filmmaker (One Nation, Naga Pixie), talked about his community event Imagination Lunchbox International Children’s Film Festival, where he inspire young filmmakers by screening and awarding their film projects.
