*Singer Ari Lennox was left heartbroken after her hit debut album “Shea Butter Baby” was snubbed for the Best Album/Mixtape of the Year at the Soul Train Awards over the weekend.

Lennox was nominated along with Lizzo, Chris Brown, Ella Mai, H.E.R., and Khalid, with Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You taking home the award — even Lennox fans were disappointed that their favorite new artist didn’t win in this category.

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, the 28-year-old expressed how she really feels about the Soul Train diss — peep some of her Twitter comments below.

It’s not just an award. It wasn’t any award show. It was the soul train awards. As you can see I’m big fan of soul music and huge fan of soul trains history.

Being snubbed was something I always expected and was definitely prepared for just not by them.

1. bareface & beautiful 2.you know the scariest shit I’ve been witnessing is that most of the women leaving negative comments like “it’s an act” , “I don’t have the right to act like this b/c I’m famous, “bitch you slow” or just flat out making fun of me for being vulnerable. HAVE CHILDREN, these women have children. It makes me feel soo bad cause it’s clear that if the children are developing or struggling with any type of mental disorder such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, it’ll be brushed to the side and will never receive any treatment because it’ll just be “an act”. These parents are probably so ignorant that instead of reading up on symptoms they just whoop the child ??‍♀️ sad, my shit started at 6 so yes kids have it to.

Lennox dropped her debut studio album in May, and it immediately resonated with females fans due to its raw honesty and warm emotions.

Ari believes her soulful album deserves more acknowledgement from the industry. She took the Soul Train loss hard, and announced on Twitter that she’s quitting music to “join the damn army.”

I’m not selling out. So I quit.

I’ll join the damn army.

Meanwhile, Summer Walker also had a few comments for her fans following the awards ceremony.

The songstress slammed critics of her alleged “extreme social anxiety” after she served up a lackluster acceptance speech for her Best New Artist win.

Walker is catching heat for claiming she can’t deal with life in public because she’s been crippled by social anxiety since she was in middle school. Meanwhile, inquiring minds would like to know why in the hell she chose a career that requires her to engage with the public?

Make it make sense, Summer.

After receiving backlash from people who aren’t buying her mental disorder excuse, she clapped back on Instagram.

“You know, the scariest s**t I’ve been witnessing is that most of the women leaving negative comments like ‘it’s an act,’ ‘I don’t have the right to act like this b/c I’m famous, b***h you slow’ or just flat out making fun of me for being vulnerable,” she wrote. “It makes me feel soo bad cause it’s clear that if the children are developing or struggling with any type of mental disorder such as anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, it’ll be brushed to the side and will never receive any treatment because it’ll just be ‘an act.'”

As a result of her social anxiety, the singer has shortened her tour.
