THE REAL: Guest Co-Host Tisha Campbell’s Update On Her New Sister, and The Oval’s Ed Quinn Visits!

*On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the ladies of The Real welcome back guest co-host Tisha Campbell and discuss the 2020 Grammy nominations!

Tisha talks about family and how she feels that blood doesn’t necessarily make people family, but no matter what, she would never turn on her sons. She also updates everyone on her recent reunion with her new sister!

And actor Ed Quinn visits to talk about his new show, The Oval, working with Tyler Perry and his long-standing friendship with David Alan Grier.

Tisha Gives An Update On Life Since Meeting Her New Sister On The Real

Tisha Campbell: I just gotta say thank you to all of you.

[The Real audience applauds]

Adrienne Houghton: Thank you for sharing your story.

Tisha: Allowing me to have that moment, you know. I didn’t know how I was going to do it. But it was the best thing to be able to share that with people. Now, as far as my sister is concerned – we talk all the time!

Adrienne: I love that!

Loni Love: Aw.

Tisha: My brother – they talk every single day! We have already jumped him – [PICTURE COMES UP] There they are – that’s her first mommy!

[The Real audience applauds]

Tisha: That’s Laverne!

Adrienne: Oh my gosh! They look so much alike!

Tisha: So much alike! They act alike! So when she came onto the couch, you know, and I’m grabbing for Tamera’s hand, like, “Hold my hand, hold my hand,” when I saw her, I was like, “Oh my god, she looks like her birth mother, she looks like Laverne!”

Adrienne: Yeah!

Loni: What was it like when she met her birth mother?

Tisha: Oh my gosh. Not even two days after we did the show, she drove all the way down there to meet them.

Jeannie Mai: Look at that. Oh my god. Spitting image.

Tisha: They spent the entire day together, We talk like we’ve known each other all our lives. I say, “I love you,” she says she loves me.

[The Real audience applauds]

Tisha: And you know, we always refer, ok, “Our father,” “Your brother,” “Go get your brother,” you know what I mean?

Adrienne: Like real family.

Tisha: We’re like family. And she’s such a great addition, and her family’s such a great addition – her wife and everybody. She’s a prayerful woman and she’s always sending me prayers. And I just love her so much.

[EDIT]

Tisha: What happened was – usually the curtain comes up and people come out, but they had her sit right next to me during the commercial break.

Tamera Mowry-Housley: Yes!

Tisha: So I go, “Heeeeeeeeh.”

Jeannie: The tension was thick because she was just like chillin’ like a villain and you were like, “Ah, I can’t look at her, I can’t make eye contact.”

Tamera: You were shaking all over, though.

Tisha: You could see my chest shaking and heaving up and down, and they were like, “Can you hold it, can you hold it,” and I was like, “Thank god for that moment where Loni said, ‘All your life you been watching Martin…’”

Adrienne: “And your sister’s Gina!”

[The Real audience applauds]

Tisha: But she doesn’t care!

Jeannie: I could see that, I could see that.

Tisha: That’s the great part, you guys! She doesn’t care – she calls every one of our family members. She’s met everybody, I think, at this point. But she doesn’t care. Yesterday, I mean, when we were doing Soul Train Awards? She was like, “I was at a function with my baby, but you know – I’m so glad that you got to rock the Soul Train Awards!”

Adrienne: Yeah, it’s not because you’re Gina…

Tisha: She’s not affected!

Adrienne: It’s because you’re her sister.

Tisha: She loves me ‘cause I’m me.

Adrienne: It’s Tisha and she loves you.

Tisha: She loves me.

Adrienne: That’s so awesome.
