Tamron Hall and Kelly Clarkson’s New Talk Shows Debut to Strong in Ratings

*There’s good news for Tamron Hall and Kelly Clarkson‘s respective new talk shows. They both debuted on Monday and out of the box they are scoring big ratings.

The “Kelly Clarkson Show” kicked things off with a 1.9 household rating/6 share in the metered markets, according to Nielsen’s overnight data. Meanwhile, “Tamron Hall” started off with a 1.4/5.

It won’t be until September 24 until we can see finalized, national ratings for the two shows, notes TheWrap.

“Tamron Hall,” from Disney-ABC,  is hosted by the former “Today” and MSNBC personality. Her return to daytime TV also topped last year’s time periods, jumping 44% to a 2.3/9 in New York and rising 71% in Los Angeles. Obviously, that’s BIG.

The bottom line: Hall’s debut was the second-highest for any daytime talk show in five years, just behind Clarkson’s.

Speaking of Tamron Hall, she’s definitely making sure that folks know she’s back. Further proof of that is that is on Friday, September 13, she will make a cameo appearance on General Hospital in scenes with Ingo Rademacher (Jax).  If you missed it, a sneak peek was offered in this week’s on-air GH promo, which you can check out below (don’t blink or you’ll miss her!).
