*Usain Bolt’s 40th birthday celebration ended with a major surprise for longtime girlfriend Kasi Bennett: an engagement ring.
According to the New York Post, the Olympic track legend proposed to Bennett during the celebration at One Belmont in Kingston, Jamaica. Bennett later gave followers a glimpse at the emotional evening through Instagram Stories, including her new five-carat diamond ring. The Jamaica Observer also shared photos of the unforgettable surprise.
The engagement comes after more than a decade together for the couple, who began dating in 2013. They eventually made their relationship public during the 2016 Rio Olympics. Before the birthday celebration, Bennett honored Bolt with a social media tribute that included photos of him with their three children: 6-year-old daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt and 5-year-old twin sons Thunder Bolt and Saint Leo Bolt.
“Happy 40th birthday to my person. ❤️ My love, my home, my forever,” Bennett wrote. She also praised Bolt as an “incredible dad” and reflected on the life they have built together.

Bennett’s friend Nikolette Williams revealed that Bennett spent months helping plan Bolt’s 40th birthday celebration, unaware that her loved ones were secretly planning a surprise of their own. Bennett shared Williams’ message on her Instagram Story: “So many sleepless nights planning UB’s 40th Kasi….little did she know we were also secretly planning the surprise of a lifetime.”
Bolt celebrated turning 40 surrounded by the people closest to him—and ended the night taking the next step with the woman he has shared more than a decade of his life with.
