*Days after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct and also becoming a first-time dad, Travis Scott has been given the keys to hometown of Missouri City, Texas, just outside of Houston.
The rapper was officially honored by Mayor Allen Owen at a ceremony held Saturday, according to local ABC affiliate KTRK. February 10 will now be recognized by the city as Travis Scott Day.
“This is better than any award show I’ve ever been to,” Scott said during the ceremony. “My only job is just to inspire kids to be the best they can be, to reach their ultimate height. Everybody has a dream and everybody can do it.”
Scott also performed his song “Butterfly Effect” at the ceremony and was joined on stage by his family and good friend James Harden of the NBA’s Houston Rockets. Harden made an appearance in Scott’s video for “Way Back.”

Last week, Scott pled guilty to disorderly conduct in Arkansas for allegedly inciting a riot during a concert nine months ago.
Scott, who was charged under his real name Jacques Webster, was arrested and initially charged with inciting a riot, disorderly conduct and endangering the welfare of a minor in May 2017 during his concert. Keith Foster, a spokesman for the Rogers Police Department, told PEOPLE that Scott had “encouraged people to rush the stage and bypass security protocols to ensure concert goer safety.”
Scott’s attorney Doug Norwood told the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that while Scott pled guilty, his two misdemeanor charges were dismissed through plea negotiations in January. He said it’s likely the disorderly conduct charge could eventually be expunged from the rapper’s record.
“They overcharged him,” Norwood said. “They tried to get him for inciting a riot. The video did not show any of that.”
The publication reported the rapper was required to pay $6,825.31 to two people who said they were injured at the concert, including $640 in court costs.
On Feb. 1, Scott recently welcomed newborn daughter Stormi Webster with girlfriend Kylie Jenner.
