Tracy Morgan Gets His Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame (WATCH)

*On Tuesday, funny man Tracy Morgan was honored with his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Morgan, who starred on “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock” had his star ceremony go down next to the snazzy W Hollywood hotel on Hollywood Boulevard.

“When I as a poor kid growing up in the projects in Brooklyn I never dreamed of having a star on the Walk of Fame, but now I’m here, I have to tell you I feel pretty comfortable,” Morgan said to laughter from the crowd.

“I tell you why,” he added: “The smell of weed and stale urine is just like being in the projects.”

On hand to help celebrate Morgan getting his award, were fellow funny men Martin Lawrence and Jordan Peele, the co-creator of “The Last O.G.,” Morgan’s new show on TNT.

Peele, also an executive producer on Morgan’s new sitcom, recalled seeing Morgan for the first time on “Def Comedy Jam” back in 1994.

“He opened my mind. He blew my world up,” he said of Morgan’s debut performance. “This is somebody who had a presence, who had a natural charisma, who had an energy that was contagious, and you knew right then you were looking at a natural star.”

But according to Peele, Morgan is much more than a comedic talent.

He’s a grinder, a collaborator and a sage, Peele said.

“He’s been through so many things and he’s come out with an outlook on life that is absolutely beautiful,” he continued.

Martin Lawrence also had warm thoughts for Morgan:

“I’m just honored to be here to celebrate this day with you, man. You making your mark in Hollywood and nobody deserves it more than you.”

During the ceremony, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also proclaimed Tuesday as “Tracy Morgan Day” in Hollywood.

Morgan spent seven years on “SNL,” from 1996-2003 and then starred in his own television show “The Tracy Morgan Show” for one season.

Fun fact: Tracy Morgan began appearing on television in Lawrence’s show “Martin” in 1994. Betcha forgot that, huh?
