the real - the real crew (12-13-18)

*On Thursday, December 13, the ladies of The Real discuss whether presentation matters when a man cooks for a woman during a dinner date, how long they would be able to go without showering, and where they each draw the line at snitching on others.  Plus, Adrienne Houghton has some holiday homework for her fellow co-hosts that may get them put on Santa’s “naught list!”

Then Lisa Van Allen talks about the upcoming three-night television event Surviving R. Kelly, her theory regarding the gun threat that took place during the premiere screening in NY, and what she hopes viewers will take away from the docuseries.

What Lisa Van Allen Wants Viewers to Take Away From Surviving R. Kelly

Loni Love: What do you want people to take away from this docuseries?

Lisa Van Allen: Awareness.  I wanted to raise awareness.  I want to help someone else’s daughter, I always say that.  I hope that the girls that are there will get strength from this, by, from watching this.  You know, it’s crazy, it’s really crazy because people don’t understand when you’re out of that situation, it still goes on with all of us. All of these girls are like still dealing with what they dealt with. No matter how long you were there. You take it with you.

Tamera Mowrey-Housley: Yeah.

Lisa: You know, so I want people to understand that if you’re buying his music, if you’re listening to the songs, if you’re going to his concerts, you’re helping him do this to these young girls.  You’re saying it’s okay.

Loni: Has any of his people or has he himself reached out to you?

Lisa: Not since right before trial. No, they haven’t. We do know some of the same people in the industry, but no…

Adrienne Houghton: And if there’s anything you could tell the people about R. Kelly, what would it be?

Lisa: Well, R. Kelly is great. I’d have to tell them about Robert.  That’s who’s the person that’s pretty much… a pedophile.  And he’s evil, you know.  You gotta watch out for him.

Jeannie Mai: Well, Rob is in control of the façade that R. Kelly is playing. So, that’s wee we need to put a stop.
