TAYO Fatunla Black History Month Spotlight/Past to the Future: Obama

OBAMA - RFK prediction

*It was over a year ago I began working on this OBAMA illustration. I abandoned it but just found the drive to complete it. The style and technique is called Pointillism which takes long time to finish.

I have watched Civil rights movies that educate and inform but not to hate. Recent ones include… “Detroit” and   “I am not your Negro,” a 2016 documentary film based on James Baldwin’s unfinished manuscript, “Remember This House.”

This needs to be watched, and with it one can have a better understanding and respect for James Baldwin’s superb writings and his recorded speeches. There was this rush for his books in libraries. Now I know why. The man was fantastically eloquent.

Speaking of eloquence, Barack Obama was two months old when the 64th United Sates Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy predicted that it was possible for the US to have a Black president. He must have believed in Dr Martin Luther King Jr’s cause and dream.
