*In the new film “Second Act,” Jennifer Lopez portrays Maya, a street smart woman from Queens who is being undervalued in her current role as assistant manager at the local “Value Shop.” Maya decides to quit her job and ends up landing the opportunity of a lifetime working for a swank Madison Avenue company after she gets creative with her current resume.
The film also stars Lopez’s real-life BFF Leah Remimi (King of Queens,) Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us,) Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) and Treat Williams
Ventimiglia had his hands full with the filming schedule, the actor who portrays Jack on NBC’s “This Us” filmed both at the same time. He would fly from Los Angeles after filming the hit drama to New York to shoot his role as “Trey,” Lopez’s love interest in the film.

JLO – who also serves as Executive Producer on the project – specifically selected the actor for the role. EURweb’s Jill Munroe spoke with Ventimiglia about his experience working with Lopez and what he loved most about Trey and Maya’s relationship.
On Trey and Maya:
“a lot of the time, people can’t get out of their own way or out of their own headspace, or their ideas about what life has put in front of them. But to actually hear the other side of the conversation and understand that life is tough, I like that.”
On working with Jennifer Lopez:
“The best part about being on set with Jennifer is watching someone who has built this creative empire, but when the cameras are rolling, she still comes prepared with her heart open to what these characters are experiencing, as an artist, that’s a beautiful thing to see.”
Jill also spoke with Vanessa Hudgens who said that what stood out to her most about “Second Act” is “the theme that the only person standing in between you and your dreams is yourself.”
