RJ Cyler is Now ‘Todd Green’ on TheCW/WBtv Hit ‘Black Lightning’

*Actor RJ Cyler (Sierra Burgess is a Loser, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) has been cast in a recurring role in the current second season of The CW/WBTV hit drama Black Lightning.

He will play Todd Green, the gangly and awkward tech genius who’s passed over for a research grant.  He doesn’t take it well, until he gets an offer to join Tobias Whale (series star Marvin “Krondon” Jones III).

After making his motion-picture debut as “Earl” in the award-winning independent feature Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Cyler went on to star as one of the Power Rangers in the Lionsgate feature release, and can currently be seen, starring alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Jason Leigh in White Boy Rick.

On television, he’s best known for his role in Jim Carrey’s I’m Dying Up Here and can next be seen starring in the latest installment of Scream.

Currently in its second season, Black Lightning airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.  Based on the DC characters, the series from Berlanti Productions and Akil Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television stars Cress Williams, China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III, Damon Gupton, Jordan Calloway and James Remar.  The series is executive produced by Salim Akil, Mara Brock Akil, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Charles D. Holland and Jan Nash.
