Mariah Carey Wants Everyone to Know She’s Back in the Recording Studio (Pics)

*Mariah Carey hit Instagram this week with a series of pics that make it clear – she’s back in the studio working on new music.

While Mimi recently kicked off her The Butterfly Returns residency at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace, she posted multiple pics of herself in the studio posing with frequent collaborator Jermaine Dupri and producer Bobby Ross Avila.

Yesterday (July 18), Avila shared a photo with Carey, writing, “Pulled an all nighter @ the studio with my bro’s @jermainedupri, @therealjohntaaustin, Mariah and the Magic was in FULL EFFECT!”

Carey and Dupri previously joined forces for “We Belong Together” and “Don’t Forget About Us,” two of the singer’s biggest hits from 2005’s “The Emancipation of Mimi.”

Carey also teased the coming of a new album in a March interview with V magazine, saying that “there’s a different approach that I’m taking as an artist. I think it’s like a fresh start.”
