*Saturday, September 29th Kallee Brookes, the self-proclaimed “Trap Fairy” celebrated her album listening party in the heart of downtown Los Angeles at the Seven Bar Lounge. Now if you’re wondering who Kallee Brookes is, the best way to describe this artist would be “fearless and energetic.”
Friends and family were present to support Kallee. As I arrived, a nice woman helped me to find my way in the building and get me signed in as “Media.” As we talked, with a smile she introduced herself as “Mom.” While waiting for the show to start, I met a tenant turned friend of Kallee. Morgan now lives in Kallee’s old apartment but the two have known each other for about a year. Morgan described Kallee as “one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.”
At the bar was where you could find drinks specials to celebrate the event, one in particular being the “The Trap Fairy Cocktail” which featured Vodka, orange juice, grenadine, and Sprite. Sweet with a kick just like Kallee!
As the evening’s host Zo Johnson kept the crowd laughing, DJ’s Staccato and A-ManTheDJ took turns keeping the crowd vibing. Anticipation grew waiting for the advertised live performance and finally the moment had arrived. The night’s opening act Mordecai was up. As Mordecai showed his skills off and switched between rapping and singing, you could see the crowd was pleased. It was the middle of Mordecai’s last song, when out of nowhere this tiny curly haired blonde beauty in colorful, form-fitting clothes hopped on stage with a mic and the crowd went wild. It was Kallee Brooke’s time to shine. The two finished their song together, Mordecai exited the stage and Kalle Brooke showed everyone what they had been waiting for. With fiery energy, head turning looks, and catchy music there was no way not to be entertained. Kallee even brought out dancers to add to the excitement.
