Is Charlamagne tha God ‘Lining Up Some People to Sue’ Over 17-year-old Rape Case?

Charlamagne Tha God and Jessica Reid

*Several social media users wondered if the facts were being twisted in Charlamagne tha God’s 17-year-old rape case after multiple blogs and websites reported that no DNA testing was ever performed

Charlamagne voluntarily agreed to submit both semen and blood samples to police during the time of the investigation. While the tests reportedly included oral, vaginal and rectal swabs, no blood or saliva analyses were performed because there were no traces of those fluids found on the alleged victim, per oxygen.com

The case resurfaced when Jessica Reid, 32, and her mother spoke to The Blast last month about the night Charlamagne, real name Lenard McKelvey, allegedly plied her with alcohol and raped her at a house party.

McKelvey pled guilty to “Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor” and served 3 years probation because of his role in hosting the party where the alleged incident occurred and minors had access to alcohol.

Now that the case is making headlines, he is reportedly preparing to file lawsuits against anyone who discussed it.

“I love suing people. I’m lining up some people to sue right now,” he said during Thursday’s Breakfast Club Morning Show. “I love suing people even if they don’t got nothing,” he added.

McKelvey is said to have hired high profile lawyers and a PR firm to repair his reputation and save his career.

There’s a lot of heated conversation happening across social media about this case, which was heightened when audio was released of Charlamagne describing his first sexual encounter with his wife, which sounded like rape. So much so that he invited his wife onto the airwaves to defend him.

Although, there’s some curious speculation that he paid his wife $50K to speak out in his defense.

Fans were left with even more questions to debate about when a 2-page report published by @thestarreport (see below) seemed to suggest that blood and saliva evidence collected from the victim in a rape kit were never analyzed for DNA.

But reports from the state of South Carolina showed that his DNA was not found on the victim.

“Charlamagne was presumed innocent. There should be no speculating about the facts here,” noted one supporter of the troubled jock. “There was NO blood or saliva found to analyze. It was not left out.”

Still — in an effort to get folks to cease the chatter about whether or not he raped Jessica Reid when she was only 15, Charlamagne released a statement that you can read by clicking on the embed above.

McKelvey reportedly did provide blood and semen samples, “but no blood or saliva evidence was found. The DNA test conducted was not an inconclusive test.”

Charlamagne’s HBO talk show is reportedly in jeopardy amid the rape allegations and a petition was launched to get him fired from hosting “The Breakfast Club.” His defenders believe there should be no speculation about the facts considering the report the South Carolina solicitor’s office released concerning the dismissed assault case.

Meanwhile, Jessica Reid, a mother of four, asked the prosecutor’s office to reopen her rape case, but her request was denied.
