Obama Plays Santa Claus in Visit to Thrilled Kids DC Children’s Hospital – WATCH

*See, this is what folks miss about Barack Obama being in the White House. The little, but important things he does. Such was the case on Wednesday when the former president  visited a Washington, D.C. children’s hospital, wearing a Santa hat and carrying a bag of gifts.

“Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas,” Obama said as he walked in, while turning on the charm along with the corny banter:

“My reindeer were stuck in some snow and I just wanted to make sure I made the trip and had the chance to see all of you guys,” Mr. Obama said as he entered a playroom at Washington Children’s National Health System.

“That’s the most important thing there is.”

However, on a serious note, he added:

“We had a chance to talk to some of the wonderful kids and their families,” Obama told a crowd at the hospital, according to The Hill. “At a time that is obviously tough for folks, and the dad of two girls, I can only imagine in that situation you know to have nurses, staff and doctors and people who are caring for them, and looking after them, and listening to them and just there for them and holding their hands.

Of course the beloved ex-president distributed the gifts he and his staff had collected.

He visited individual patients and families in their rooms as well as several playrooms.

In a video posted by the hospital, a crowd sang “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” as he walked out to greet patients, staff and families.

If you’re keeping track, the former first lady Michelle Obama visited Children’s Hospital annually from 2009-14, according to Mr. Obama’s office. He last visited in 2014, when he was still president.

Mr. Obama’s visit comes just days after a federal judge in Texas struck down the Affordable Care Act, his signature legislature achievement, as unconstitutional. However, according to CBS News, the Trump administration says the law will remain in place for now. Meanwhile, the ex-prez had recently been promoting signups.
