*Two white girls at a Florida high school thought it would be a hoot to invite their black softball teammate to prom by reminding her of her slave ancestors.
“You may be picking cotton, but we’re picking you to go to the prom with us” wrote the two students at Monarch High School in Coconut Creek, Florida girls…the message written on a cardboard.
One of the two girls, whose identities have not yet been revealed, posted the picture to her Instagram account where it was captured by Jon Aro, an 18-year-old student from Palm Beach State College, who shared it publicly with the caption, “It is two thousand and f**king seventeen.”

“I decided to post it on Twitter because it is 2017 and stuff like this is completely revolting,” Aro explained. “I had thought we had been past the plight of racism. Apparently we hadn’t. Just as she decided to take a picture of it, let alone post it on social media, I decided to do the same.”
The worst part of this whole story…the black girl said yes and was grinning ear to ear between her two white friends and that racist sign:
@papichombo she prob feels like she has to laugh along with the racist jokes so they will like her…sad
