*The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Alec Baldwin who is a genius at playing an infantile president with no clue on Saturday Night Live is hysterical in Dreamworks as “The Boss Baby.”
Dreamworks Animation in association with 20th Century Fox held a special screening for the film at The Whitby Hotel where director Tom McGrath and producer Ramsey Naito talked about the making of the movie.
Asked about the casting of Baldwin, McGrath said he was the “first and only choice.” McGrath went on to say, “Alex, he’s just intense and self directing. The great thing about him is, he is A 100% pro. He would find comedy in lines that weren’t even written to be funny. The hardest part of our job was not to laugh and ruin his takes.”
What Naito also found exciting about the film is that it’s a universal story and delves into sibling rivalry.
“Nonetheless, the children are able to push the rivalry aside and love one another,” she said. “I was an only child but I have three sons. My oldest son even asked me if the film was based on him [laughs].”
The arrival of “The Boss Baby” to the family upsets a wildly imaginative 7-year-old named Tim (Miles Bakshi) in the delightful animated comedy for all ages. The film also stars Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Miles Christopher Bakshi, Eric Bell Jr., and Tobey Maguire as Narrator
