*I always like to get this sh*t straight at the onset whenever the word “media” is referenced because… I AM MEDIA.
So take this story to properly read: SOME MEDIA. And from the title it would be no stretch of the imagination to determine WHICH “some” that is.
OK, I’m back.
And with me comes the perfect example of a little thing called White Privilege.
Look at the face of the smiling young woman in the photo above. Nothing about it says, “This is my mugshot,” so looking at it, you’d be led to believe its a school picture or social media image of a happy-go-lucky kinda gal.
Actually, the since-gone-viral photo was orginally captioned: “The happiest mugshot in America.”
It belongs to a teen from Texas named Sarah Furay, and it was taken following her arrest carrying a boatload of drugs and accessories on her person. When she was apprehended she carried weed, cocaine, heroine, an LSD-type substance and two pairs of scales to weigh all of that with in preparation of sales.
But that’s not the thick of it.
