CNN Gets Copy of Racist Texts Sent by SF Cop, But Police Chief Insists Issue is ‘Isolated’

SFPD

*The San Francisco Police Dept. is in a lot of hot water after CNN was able to capture incredibly racist and slanderous texts exchanged by some of its police officers — with one officer of Asian descent being in the center of it all.

Text messages such as:

“I hate that beaner,” and “but I think the nig is worse.”

“Indian ppl are disgusting,” another reads, and a third says, “Burn down walgreens and kill the bums.”

One would think these officers are bored, with little else to do but use their force excessively or…write disparaging texts. Are there no real crimes for them to fight?

Officer Jason Lai (shown below), who was accused of sending the texts shown above (they were actually captured from his personal phone), recently resigned. But he had been with the police department for the past six years, according to CNN.

According to his attorney, Don Nobles,  the texts are “not reflective of who he is.”

Good lord! Do people actually hear themselves when they say shit like this? If it is not “reflective” of who HE is, WHO is he reflecting???

Nobles also says, “there is no evidence he carried out any of those sentiments as an officer.”

“He was well-liked and well-loved on his beat.”

Excuse me while I attempt to close my mouth as this has given me a case of locked-jaw.

The SFPD is already undergoing a review that was announced in February 2016 by the Justice Department, who is looking into their training and practices following pressure from the community after city police shot and killed a young African American man — a shooting that was captured on video.

But the texts received by CNN from Jason Lai’s phone is said to have been sent to some of his closest friends on the police force and with people he had befriended on his beat.

According to Nobles, “It’s hard to say any of those things in context, but there is context to it.”
