Chrissy Teigen Blasts Trump for Demanding Apology from Hamilton Cast; Pence Says he wasn’t Offended

The outspoken Chrissy Teigen is among those who aren’t buying Donald Trump‘s BS tweet demanding an apology from the cast of “Hamilton” for expressing their concerns to VP-elect Mike Pence when he attended the show Friday night (11-18-16). Pence was also booed by the audience at the show, too.

“Wow @realdonaldtrump is right. I can’t believe they would subject poor, innocent Mike Pence to such abhorrent, evil hate speech,” a sarcastic Teigen wrote. “Look who wants a f—ing safe space now. The very thing him and his supporters make fun of as liberal political correctness. God, what a POS.”

The model and TV personality rattled off about half a dozen more tweets in one of which she called Trump’s presidency an “inevitable dumpster fire,” according to Variety.

Teigen also referenced what has become frequently-referenced backlash to the amount of attention the ordeal has gotten — that Trump is using the events at “Hamilton” to distract from the fact that he agreed on Friday to pay $25 million to settle a series of lawsuits against Trump University.

“Donald knows very well what he is doing. He knows the Hamilton speech was NBD. He knows his tweet will fire both sides up to distract from the 25 million dollar settlement of yesterday. Most conniving human on planet earth,” she wrote.

But what did Mike Pence think about the incident. The Hill reports that on Sunday he said “wasn’t offended” after the cast of the Broadway hit “Hamilton” called for the Indiana governor to uphold the country’s values in a personal message after a show.

“I know this is a very disappointing time for people that did not see their candidate win in this national election. I know that this is a very anxious time for some people,” Pence said on “Fox News Sunday.”

“And I just want to reassure people that what President-elect Donald Trump said on election night he absolutely meant from the bottom of his heart – he is preparing to be the president of all of the people of the United States of America.”

The Indiana governor said he’s confident the American people will see the president-elect be a president for all of the people.

“We embrace that principle,” Pence said.

Well if that’s the case, he’s got a crazy way of showing it.

Pence attended the Broadway hit on Friday night. When he was leaving, one of the actors asked for him to stay to listen to a statement from the cast.

“Vice President-elect Pence, we welcome you and we truly thank you for joining us at ‘Hamilton: An American Musical,’ ” actor Brandon Victor Dixon said onstage.

“We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. We hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us.”

After the statement, Trump called for the cast of Hamilton to apologize.

Pence said he’ll leave it up to others to determine whether that was the “appropriate venue for that,” and then offered praise for the show.

“Hamilton is just an incredible production and incredibly talented people. It was a real joy to be there,” Pence said.

Meanwhile, Teigen’s husband, singer John Legend, also commented on the “Hamilton” situation via social media aregarding the call of Trump supporters to boycott the show.

“If #boycotthamilton goes like #boycottbeyonce I’m gonna start #boycottjohnlegend. S— seems lucrative,” Legend wrote.
