*The Notorious B.I.G. passed away nearly 20 years ago, and since his death, the Brooklyn-born M.C. has been consistently ranked as one of the greatest and most influential rappers of all time. Now, the Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum is hoping to immortalize his legacy by erecting a statue in his likeness in his hometown. The Biggie bust pictured above, tagged as the #BIGGIEMEMORIAL, was designed by local artist Tanda Francis.
The Hip Hop Hall of Fame created a GoFundMe page to help raise $35,000 to make the statue a reality. The group plans to make the Putnam Triangle Plaza in Clinton Hill the home of the Biggie memorial, Jet Magazine reports
The BIGGIE Memorial will be a new New York landmark in the neighborhood which still treasures him. The memorial will be a bold reminder of the hip hop and music history which has helped form the creative and cultural landscape of New York City and around the world.

Meanwhile, Big Sean’s “The Sean Anderson Foundation” has donated $25,000 to assist Wayne State University secure an endowment for the “Helping Individuals Go High” (HIGH) initiative, a program dedicated to fighting homelessness.
HIGH provides students with housing and/or housing support, textbooks, clothing, transportation and child-care assistance. The organization was created in 2013 by Jacqueline Wilson, the wife of WSU’s president.
“We see the HIGH Program as an important component of ensuring success at Wayne State and we are proud to help strengthen its mission,” Myra Anderson, Big Sean’s mother and president of The Sean Anderson Foundation, said in a press release. “We aim to boost graduation rates at the university by providing support to students facing hardships.”
In addition to this latest partnership, The Sean Anderson Foundation launched the #HealFlintKids campaign to provide funds to help those affected by the Flint water crisis.
