*The New York Post is reporting that Kanye West is so uncontrollable right now that his mother-in-law Kris Jenner is terrified that he’s “damaging the Kardashian brand” and has ordered the hiring of a PR person to keep him in line.

According to the report, West’s team met with a number of top publicists within the last few months, but nobody wants to work with him. A source said, “His Twitter rants are out of control, and Kris fears that he’s taking the family down. Kris wants Kanye to hire someone to handle all the noise and drama so he can focus on being an artist.”

But the PR world has run in the opposite direction. One top publicist told Page Six, “You couldn’t pay us enough to represent Kanye. He’s too much to handle.”

Per Page Six:

Page Six obtained a leaked audio tape of Kanye’s meltdown backstage at “Saturday Night Live.” He flew into a frenzy moments before the show, hosted by Melissa McCarthy, because the lighting director ordered the crew to take up the flooring on his set.

Kanye was heard yelling, “By 50 percent [I am more influential than] Stanley Kubrick, Picasso, Apostle Paul, f - - king Picasso and Escobar. By 50 percent, more influential than any other human being. Don’t f - - k with me. Don’t f - - k with me. Don’t f - - k with me.”

And it wasn’t the first time Kanye has flipped out over a floor. Sources tell us that when he previously appeared on “SNL” as the musical guest, he demanded expensive marble flooring. An insider related, “Kanye said, ‘If I’m going to sing like a stone, I need to feel the stone,’ and then got his team to bring in a huge piece of marble. It was ridiculous.”

Meanwhile, after the tape leak, Kanye and “SNL” boss Lorne Michaels spoke on the phone to clear the air. Another source close to Kanye insists, “He wasn’t overly concerned about the recording. It’s not the first time [somebody has secretly recorded him],” said the source, who added, “He’s a provocateur . . . somebody who stirs up the s - - t. He knows how to generate a lot of interest and curiosity . . . He’s an artist first and foremost . . . The whole Twitter persona is a part of his art.”
