*While the Miami Fraternal Order of Police stated they plan to boycott Beyonce’s scheduled concert in April over her Super Bowl 50 halftime show, the Tampa PD are denying recent reports that they’ll do the same for her April 29 show at Raymond James Stadium.

The rumors started with a local TV reporter. Crystal Clark of Fox 13 WTVT tweeted, “Tampa Police typically sign up to work off-duty jobs, like the #Beyonce concert, for extra income. So far, no takers.”

The Tampa Police Department has since set the record straight.

“[The reporter] never asked us. Dozens of people have signed up for the event. [The story] has an agenda to get clicks,” Andrea Davis, a spokesman for the police department tells HipHopHollywood.com.

Tampa Police Department spokesperson Steve Hegarty also told Clarke in her report that the event would by staffed by police officers because they “have a responsibility to do that regardless of how controversial it might be, who the artist might be, or the politician might be. This is a couple of months away, so we’ve still got plenty of time to fill those slots.”
