*“Black-ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross participated in a roundtable of today’s hottest comedic TV actresses and the question posed to the group – which included “Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez and “Girls” creator/star Lena Dunham – was to share the most overtly sexist thing that has happened to them in Hollywood.
“I think racism usually trumps it,” said Ross. “It’s a little easier to spot.”
Ross, an alum of the Mara Brock Akil-run sitcom “Girlfriends,” went on to say that “Black-ish” was her first TV experience told from a male point of view, referring to showrunner Kenya Barris.
“There are certain moments here and there that people don’t realize the stereotypes that you’re perpetuating, but when called on it, they’re very happy to kind of open that up.”
