*Taking the lead as he does with many White House endeavors, President Barack Obama exercised his power of executive selection in honor of the White House joining Spotify on Friday (Aug. 14).
Overall, Obama inaugurated the music-sharing site with hand-picking two separate playlists: One for the day, and one for the night.
Daytime selections range from classic like Sly & the Family Stone’s “Hot Fun in the Summertime” and the Temptations’ “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg” to recent songs from artists like Florence & the Machine, Talib Kweli & Hi Tek, Brandi Carlisle, Coldplay and Justin Timberlake.
As for the nighttime playlist, Obama goes the mellow route with tunes such as Nina Simone’s “Feelin’ Good,” The Lumineers’ “Stubborn Love,” John Coltrane’s “My Favorite Things,” Frank Sinatra’s “The Best Is Yet to Come,” and Beyoncé’s “Superpower”(feat. Frank Ocean).
