LeBron Kills Talk of D-Wade Reunion While Staying Out with Knee Injury

EURweb Logo*All talk of LeBron James reuniting with Dwayne Wayne to do “some bigger and better things” is simply just talk.

James put the rumors to rest recently when speaking to reporters about a video of him and Wade chatting after the Miami Heat’s 101-91 Christmas Day victory over his Cleveland Cavaliers. In the clip, James tells his former teammate that “if things aren’t better this year, we’re going to reunite again and do some bigger and better things, all right?”

Despite what’s seen and heard in the video, James said that although he couldn’t recall exactly to what he was talking about in his conversation with Wade, it probably had nothing to do with basketball. Especially since he and Wade had dinner on Tuesday and may have discussed various things in private.

“I’ve seen that video too,” James told reporters. “I don’t know exactly what I said, but I know it had nothing to do about basketball. I wouldn’t say that on Christmas, in front of cameras. That had nothing to do with me leaving here.

“I didn’t go to college, but I’m not stupid,” he continued. “If I would have said something, I would have said it [Tuesday] night to D-Wade. I’m here now and I’m here to build something in the future.”

James’ comments come as he remains out of action with an injury to his left knee, which was aggravated when he jumped into the stands in Miami on Christmas. As he nurses the injury, the Cavs are suffering as they fall to fifth in the East in light of a three-game losing streak and non-winning results for four of their last five games. On Tuesday, James sat out the team’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks and was also out of action Wednesday when the Cavs lost to the Milwaukee Bucks

In addition, James spent time along with point guard Kyrie Irving defending the team’s first-year coach David Blatt earlier this week amid rumors of Blatt is  losing control of the Cavs.

As for the knee, the Cavs announced Thursday that James will miss the next two weeks in light of the injury and low back strains.

Deadspin.com reports that injuries have been an issue with the Cavaliers in recent weeks. Irving is just now returning to the team after recovering from his own injury, while back spasms caused Kevin Love to miss the Cavs’ game against Bucks.

Up next for the 18-14 Cavaliers are games running through Jan. 16 against the Phoenix Suns, the L.A. Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets.
