ESPY Nominees Revealed: LeBron, Serena, Curry, Mo’Ne Up for Awards

*We already know that Caitlyn Jenner will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2015 ESPYs. Today, ESPN unveiled the athletes who will compete for awards at its annual ceremony, to be held July 15 at 8 p.m. from Nokia Theatre’s L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

Fresh from the NBA Finals, Stephen Curry of the victorious Golden State Warriors will face Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James in the Best Male Athlete category, while newly-crowned French Open champ Serena Williams will face Tiger Woods’ ex Lindsey Vonn, UConn’s Breanna Stewart and fighter Ronda Rousey for Best Female Athlete.

Joel McHale is set to host the show, which will air on ABC for the first time in its history, moving over from Disney sister network ESPN.

The celebration kicks off with “SportsCenter at The ESPYS” and “The ESPYS Countdown Show Presented by Capital One” airing from 6-7 p.m. ET and 7-8 p.m. ET, respectively, on ESPN prior to the start of the awards.
