*Rev Al Sharpton and ex-Vogue editor André Leon Talley will be at the forefront of the “Free Lucious” movement next season on “Empire.”
The duo will pop up in the season premiere as allies for jailed Empire Entertainment CEO Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), according to Entertainment Weekly.
The premiere will begin with a huge media event calling on Lucious to be freed from jail despite pending murder charges.
Sharpton’s cameo is a tongue-in-cheek reference to his real-life advocacy on behalf of the downtrodden and wrongly accused.
The duo join a growing list of major guest stars lined up for Empire season two, including Marisa Tomei, Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Chris Rock, Mariah Carey and Pitbull.
Empire returns to Fox on Sept. 23.
