*Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., recently shared an update on his mother’s health amid her battle with dementia.
On December 23, Kevin commented on Charlamagne Tha God’s Instagram post, which celebrated his recent college graduation, expressing optimism about the 60-year-old talk show host’s recovery journey.
“While I’m here, quick update on my mom. She’s sober and wants to come home,” Kevin wrote. “We’re fighting to make that happen because isolation is killing her faster than anything else.”
In the post’s comments, one fan added, “Just to see her smiling face makes my heart smile.” Another wrote, “She looks amazing!!!!!! She looks healthy!!” A third noted, “I hope her family fights like Hell for her. We miss you, Wendy!”
Williams attended her son’s graduation from Florida International University on December 19, marking a rare public appearance during her ongoing health battles with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and primary progressive aphasia (PPA). Photographs captured Wendy using a mobility scooter at the event, joined by family members including her 93-year-old father, Thomas Williams Sr., and her sister, Wanda Finnie. This follows recent outings in the Sunshine State, despite her court-appointed guardian describing Williams as “legally incapacitated” last month.

The beloved former talk show host was recently spotted picking up food with her nephew Travis Finnie at Fort Lauderdale restaurant, Sister Sara’s Shonuff Oysters. A fan shared their interaction with Williams on Instagram on Sunday, December 15. In the post’s comments, one user wrote: “She doesn’t look or sound ‘permanently incapacitated’. Something is super off with this whole mess.”
We reported earlier that Williams is allegedly facing grave health challenges as court documents reveal the extent of her battle with early-onset dementia. The filing, submitted by her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, asserts that she has become “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated” due to her condition.
Williams was diagnosed with both aphasia and dementia in May 2023, marking a decline after she was placed under legal guardianship due to her health complications.
“Aphasia, a condition affecting language and communication abilities, and frontotemporal dementia, a progressive disorder impacting behavior and cognitive functions, have already presented significant hurdles in Wendy’s life,” her team said in a statement.
