*Authorities in Milwaukee have linked two fatal shootings from November 5 to a 54-year-old landlord, alleging he killed a witness to eliminate testimony about his involvement in a murder.
According to The Independent, Kevin Griffin, 54, stands accused of shooting his tenant and a woman who observed the crime, according to charging documents filed with the Milwaukee County court. The tragedy unfolded at a residence near the intersection of 12th Street and Capitol Drive. Court filings indicate Griffin encountered his 39-year-old tenant, Terrance Wilder, during what Griffin perceived as a drug deal. While attempting to evict Wilder, Griffin allegedly told investigators he “lost control” and fatally shot him.

A’Nya Raymond, 31, witnessed the shooting alongside her young son. Griffin allegedly forced both into his car at gunpoint before driving from the scene. When Raymond attempted to protect herself using a blade and pepper spray, Griffin fired six rounds at her.
After the attack, Griffin disposed of Raymond’s remains in an alleyway before leaving the boy at a separate location, miles from the crime scene. Police ultimately found the child, and he was reunited with his family later that day.
Griffin now faces first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, and unlawful firearm possession charges stemming from his status as a previously convicted felon. During court proceedings, prosecutors stated Griffin admitted responsibility for both deaths. A judge ordered him held on $500,000 bond, with his next scheduled appearance set for late November.
Wilder’s aunt, Wendy Wilder, said, “He’s not a violent person, he didn’t deserve it.”
“We hope that he gets what he deserves,” she added.
A GoFundMe has been launched to support Raymond’s family.
