*TV host Karamo Brown delivered a blunt assessment of Wendy Osefo’s legal troubles during a recent “Watch What Happens Live” appearance. Brown didn’t mince words when Andy Cohen asked about the “Real Housewives of Potomac” star’s arrest on fraud charges.
“I’m just used to stunt queens in the gay community, so I was like, ‘Oh, this is a stunt.’ Okay, you pulled a stunt, girl. You was trying some insurance fraud, girl,” Karamo stated, Reality Tea reports. “Okay, girl, you got caught. Girl, now go do the time.”
When pressed further, he doubled down on his assessment. “Isn’t that what she did? That’s what she did, right? She pulled a stunt,” Karamo stated. “She said she didn’t have the ring, and then she had the ring, right?” He added, “That’s a stunt.”

Osefo and her husband, Edward, were arrested on October 9, 2025, in Westminster, Maryland, facing 16 fraud-related charges. Authorities allege the couple fabricated a burglary at their home in April, claiming roughly 80 items worth over $200,000 were stolen. Wendy faces seven counts of felony insurance fraud, eight counts of conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and one charge for making false statements to police.
The investigation revealed multiple red flags. Investigators reported no signs of forced entry, undisturbed furniture, and no activity captured by the home’s security system. Among the allegedly stolen items was Wendy’s $4,500 gold diamond anniversary band, which she appeared to be wearing in social media photos posted after the reported theft.
Court documents include emails purportedly from Edward discussing the claim value. “I’m trying to get the total to exceed $423,000 which is our policy maximum,” the emails allegedly show Edward telling his wife. Police recovered at least 15 items during a home search, while several other “stolen” items had already been returned to stores for refunds.
The couple spent one night in jail before posting $50,000 bond each. Osefo has since resigned from her teaching position at Wesleyan University. Her legal team claims the arrest was “illegal” due to “defects in the charging document.”
