*Joe Budden is embroiled in controversy after a bizarre incident at his condo complex, which has led to legal trouble.
The creator and co-host of The Joe Budden Podcast is facing a lawsuit from two of his neighbors, John and Yuliya Aksoy, who accuse him of attempting to enter their apartment while naked and causing unrest in their building, TMZ reports. The lawsuit, filed by the Aksoys’ attorney, Thomas Mirigliano, also names the condo association and fellow podcaster Melyssa Ford. The Aksoys claim they became targets after raising concerns about the podcast being filmed in the building. They allege that Budden, Ford, and the association retaliated with a “campaign of intimidation.”
The couple also accuses Budden of making racially charged remarks following their complaints about strong weed odors in shared spaces, which they say affected their daughter’s health. Additionally, the Aksoys allege that Budden mocked them during an episode of his podcast, which aired on December 4, 2024, as he discussed an indecent exposure charge. Budden’s lawyer, Nima Ameri, has dismissed the lawsuit, calling it a “money grab” and claiming the Aksoys’ actions were racially motivated.
The legal dispute comes on the heels of a public indecent exposure charge against Budden. The 44-year-old was accused of being found naked outside a neighbor’s door in Edgewater, New Jersey, in December 2024. Budden attempted to downplay the incident, suggesting on his podcast that he had “sleepwalked” into the situation, “butt-a** naked.”
As we reported earlier, security camera footage allegedly shows Budden standing outside his neighbor’s apartment, attempting to enter a code into the resident’s door keypad several times before returning to his unit. The incident was reportedly visible to the resident and their two juvenile daughters through the live feed on their phones.

Budden’s attorney voiced dissatisfaction with how the Edgewater Police Department handled the situation, calling their press release “inflammatory and slanderous,” The Blast reports. Budden was simply “sleepwalking” when he was spotted naked outside his residence, according to Ameri.
“It is important to clarify that Mr. Budden was never arrested, and the incident referenced was a result of a well-documented medical condition known as sleepwalking — a condition that Mr. Budden has a long and public history of,” Ameri said.
The attorney also suggested that Chief Donald Martin’s decision to issue a public press release about the incident may have been influenced by racial bias.
Budden’s legal team has criticized Edgewater Police Chief Martin for publicly discussing the case, calling it a publicity stunt and claiming that the allegations against Budden are overstated.
