*Jenece Bond, founder of the Taylen Lauren Horton Foundation, a non-profit, is on a mission to change lives and raise awareness for Dravet syndrome.
Like most people, you’ve probably never heard of Dravet, (pronounced Dra-VAY). It is a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy that profoundly affects her daughter Taylen’s daily life.
Raising Taylen has been a challenge marked by medical emergencies, developmental delays, and the uncertainty of managing a disorder that brings frequent, severe seizures. Yet, through the hardships, Bond has found resilience, transforming her struggles into a platform for advocacy and support.
Making a Difference
In addition, as part of her ongoing efforts, Bond is hosting the second annual event called *Tay’s Play Day* on December 8th at Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Studios. Jenece recently appeared on Hart’s Straight From The Hart Podcast to promote the event.

This special day, named after their daughter, will feature activities and entertainment designed for children while raising funds for Dravet syndrome research and support services. With Hart’s platform lending visibility to the cause, Bond hopes to expand her reach and continue her life-changing efforts.
The event is expected to attract celebrities and families alike, offering a chance for community engagement and highlighting the importance of advocacy for rare conditions like Taylen’s.
Bond’s journey has been anything but easy. “Living with Dravet syndrome means living in constant vigilance. Every day is unpredictable,” Bond shared. “But with each challenge, we’ve found strength we didn’t know we had, and that’s what this foundation is about—helping other families find that same strength.”
Co-parenting With Precision
Through persistence, Jenece has worked harmoniously with her ex-husband, comedian Will “Spank” Horton, a member of the Plastic Cup Boyz, in building the foundation’s efforts. The former couple’s commitment to Taylen’s wellbeing and the foundation’s mission has united them in a common cause: giving Taylen, and others like her, the best possible quality of life.
“We’re showing that no matter what life throws at us, our main goal is to make Taylen’s life and the lives of others better,” said Bond.

Despite their demanding schedules, both Jenece and Spank have remained committed to their daughter’s well-being. Together they also work to spread awareness of her condition. Their ability to work together and stay focused on their shared goals is a testament to their dedication as parents and advocates.
Jenece’s passion for helping others and her strength as a mother continue to drive the foundation forward. *Tay’s Play Day* promises to be a memorable event, blending fun with purpose, while reinforcing her commitment to raising awareness and supporting families dealing with this devastating disorder.
