*As of mid-April (2026), the “It’s Iconic” tour — co-headlining TLC and Salt-N-Pepa with special guest En Vogue — remains fully scheduled for more than 30 dates across North America. The run kicks off August 15, 2026, in Franklin, Tennessee, and wraps on October 11, 2026, in the Concord, California area.
But the controversy surrounding TLC’s Chilli has raised real questions. Here’s the latest.
What Actually Happened?
Federal Election Commission records revealed that Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas made multiple small donations — totaling roughly $900 to $1,000 — to Trump-affiliated committees and Republican fundraisers in 2024. She also briefly reposted (then deleted) a conspiracy theory meme about Michelle Obama.
The backlash was immediate and intense, especially in Black entertainment spaces. Calls for boycotts erupted. Some demanded TLC be removed from the tour entirely. Comments under tour ads turned into battlegrounds.

Chilli’s Response: “I Am Not MAGA”
Chilli did not stay silent. She publicly responded, stating clearly: “I am not MAGA and do not support any of the many policies that are causing great harm to the American people.”
Her explanation? The donations were a mistake. She claims she didn’t read the fine print and thought she was supporting causes like anti-human trafficking and veterans.
She expressed regret and, in some contexts, admitted she’s “not computer savvy.”
Sources close to her say she is “mortified,” “dramatically affected,” and deeply worried that this could taint TLC’s legacy of Black female empowerment. One insider described her as distressed about the optics.
Tour Impact: No Cancellations, Solid Sales
So, what has this meant for the It’s Iconic Tour?
The short answer: less than the online outrage might suggest.
No cancellations – The tour has not been cancelled. TLC has not been replaced. Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue remain on the bill.
Strong ticket sales – Reports indicate over 150,000 tickets moved in the initial wave. Several markets, including Los Angeles (Intuit Dome, October 10) and Las Vegas (Fontainebleau, October 9), are seeing high demand.
Tickets still available – Despite some claims of full sell-outs, primary tickets remain on sale via Ticketmaster for most dates, including Atlanta (October 2), Toronto (September 2), Kansas City (September 30), and Mohegan Sun (August 28). VIP packages are also available.
Why Nostalgia May Trump Politics
The reaction among fans has been split — but not evenly.
Online, criticism remains loud. Some fans vow to skip the tour, accusing Chilli of betraying the group’s legacy. Others argue that politics shouldn’t ruin music, pointing to the diverse fanbases (white, Black, Hispanic) who grew up on 90s anthems like “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” “Push It,” and “My Lovin’.”
Many fans say they will still attend for the other acts or simply for the overall nostalgic experience. For legacy acts with deep catalogs, political backlashes often generate more heat than real-world impact on ticket sales.
The Bottom Line
The It’s Iconic Tour is moving forward as planned. Promoters, venues, and all three groups continue promoting the dates with no official changes. Chilli has apologized and denied MAGA allegiance. And millions of 90s R&B fans still want to hear the hits live.
If you’re eyeing tickets for Los Angeles or any other stop, check Ticketmaster or authorized resale sites directly. Availability and prices fluctuate.
