*Prime Video’s third and final season of “Harlem” is now streaming as of January 23. Following a dramatic cliffhanger in Season 2, the series returns to follow the four main women as they face major life decisions, including challenges in motherhood, careers, relationships, and family.
Created by Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip), “Harlem” follows the everyday lives of four best friends Camille (Meagan Good), Quinn (Grace Byers), Angie (Shoniqua Shandai), and Tye (Jerrie Johnson) in New York City. This season will follow “the core four women on the precipice of change like never before. Whether it be motherhood, singlehood, sisterhood, complicated career journeys, or even more complicated families, our stylish and ambitious best girlfriends strive to finally choose themselves above all else,” per the synopsis. The cast hopes fans will be satisfied with the series’ conclusion.
“I know people are really, really heartbroken that it’s the last season. I don’t think it’s the last you’re going to see of these four girls, I really believe there’s no way. I just won’t buy it,” series newcomer Logan Browning told TooFab.
“I hope they’re satisfied,” Browning added.
The final season also welcomes newcomers Kofi Siriboe, Robin Givens, and Gail Bean in recurring roles. Siriboe portrays Seth, an MLB player whose confident, charming, and sweet mannerisms land him a spot in one of the ladies’ hearts. Bean stars as Given’s daughter Eva, a driven, yet playful venture capitalist who has started working with Tye (Jerrie Johnson). Browning portrays Portia, an edgy and beautiful woman from Ian’s (Tyler Lepley) childhood, whose return to Harlem causes a stir, per the season 3 synopsis.
“I hope that the fans, including myself, who are heartbroken that it’s the last season, feel satisfied by the end, feel really good in their hearts about where they’re leaving these characters,” Browning said.
“If the fans bully Amazon into … Bullying works. Don’t bully. Maybe not bully. Maybe strong arm. Petition,” Logan and Gail jokingly said, hoping viewers campaign for the series return, per TooFab. “Let’s just send a lot of emails, write a lot of comments. Don’t be bullying. It’s just a bit of pressure.”
The final episode is sure to make fans cry, according to Jerrie.
“I was sobbing through it and I was like, ‘I was there. Why am I crying?’ But it’s so well shot and it’s so heart-wrenching. Our directors have done such a great job, our producers, the writers, to get all of what needed to be got in six episodes,” Jerries shared. “So I hope that the audience feels complete and at comfort and to feel like, ‘Oh if it’s only gonna be six episodes, I hope it’s this six episodes.'”
Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios, said in a statement: “As we prepare to say goodbye to this incredible series, we’re both grateful for the journey Tracy has taken us on and excited for our global customers to experience a final season that truly honors these characters. This chapter may be coming to a close, but the series will continue to resonate for years to come.”
Oliver added, “I’m beyond grateful to the whole team at Amazon for giving me the chance of a lifetime to tell these four Black women’s stories and shoot it in the city I love: Harlem. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m honored to see the impact it’s made in the culture, as well as the impact it’s had on all of us who’ve been blessed to work on it. A huge thank you to everyone who’s watched the show. I’m excited to finally share our best season yet.”
The first two episodes of “Harlem” Season 3 are available to stream on Prime Video, with new episodes dropping weekly.
